From a single pediatric practice on Plainview Drive to an AI operating system that will restore physician independence across millions of lives.
"I believe AI is going to be the most beneficial technology ever created, but only if we apply it in the right way and build it in the right way."— Demis Hassabis, Nobel Laureate & CEO, Google DeepMind
Every revolution begins with a single moment of injustice. Ours began at a pediatric practice in Pasadena, Texas.
A gifted pediatrician spent seven years building relationships — with children, with families, with an entire community. She was promised the practice she'd helped build. That promise was broken.
She made a different choice. She chose independence. Roots Health dba Nag Pediatrics opened its doors at 3322 Plainview Drive, Pasadena, Texas — right next door. Not out of spite, but from a first-principles calculation: the relationships were real, the demand was there, and no non-compete could undo a community's trust in a physician they loved.
She was busy from day one. Forty patients a day, six days a week. Nearly a thousand patients a month. But the credentialing wasn't right. The billing was broken — each visit billed individually, claim by claim, with no system.
The practice was clinically thriving but financially hemorrhaging. So we went back to first principles. We fixed credentialing. We rebuilt billing. We started reading the data. We managed through the data. And the practice came alive.
Underneath all the chaos was something extraordinary: a physician who loved her patients, and patients who loved her back.
Birthday clubs for every child. A+ Clubs where kids who earned top grades received $100 gift cards. Summer programs sending eighth-graders to Harvard. In a pediatric practice, a child stays for 18 years. That's not a clinical encounter. That's a covenant.
Five thousand patients. Forty to fifty HEDIS quality measures each. That's 200,000 unique data combinations — permutations of care that must be tracked for a Patient-Centered Medical Home.
When a colleague fell ill and asked us to take over her practice: 75% of well-child checkups hadn't been completed. Not because anyone was negligent — because the system was designed to drown physicians in complexity until they surrendered their independence.
The healthcare system was systematically crushed under the weight of complexity no human can manage alone.
"Physicians spend nearly twice as much time on EHR documentation and desk work as they do with patients. The system has inverted the very purpose of medicine."— American Hospital Association / AMA Studies
Demis Hassabis, the Nobel laureate who solved protein folding, believes we are entering the most transformative decade in human history. So do we.
"The best-case scenario I've always dreamed about and worked my whole life... is a kind of radical abundance — this idea we've solved the biggest issues confronting society and humanity today."— Demis Hassabis, Axios AI+ Summit, December 2025
"What are the most important things AI can be used for? I think there are two. One is human health — that's number one — trying to solve and cure terrible diseases."— Demis Hassabis, Possible Podcast with Reid Hoffman, 2025
AlphaFold predicted the 3D structure of virtually every known protein — a breakthrough so consequential it won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry. That database is now used by over three million researchers across 190+ countries.
"Biology at its most fundamental level can be thought of as an information processing system. AI is potentially the perfect description language for biology."— Demis Hassabis, Nobel Prize Lecture, Stockholm, December 2024
If AI is the perfect description language for biology, then it is also the perfect operating system for healthcare delivery. The same AI capabilities that can fold proteins can also fold the complexity of a 5,000-patient pediatric practice into something a physician can actually manage.
"We'll have these incredible tools that supercharge our productivity and actually almost make us a little bit superhuman."— Demis Hassabis, Wired Interview, 2025
If you can digitize and AI-enable a single practice, you can do it for a hospital. A hospital is just a multiplier of practices.
Roots Health dba Nag Pediatrics. AI agents handle credentialing, RCM, clinical documentation, and population health.
Independence OS acquires and operates medical practices, deploying the full AI stack across every operational surface.
Five interconnected platforms form a Constitutional AI Operating System. The OS travels with the practice.
When Temasek acquired Manipal Hospitals for ~$2 billion, they acquired millions of relationships. Independence OS embedded across that entire network is a civilizational upgrade.
At scale, each relationship costs approximately one dollar. Relationships are the only irreducible asset. Everything else is computation approaching free.
The relationship is the irreducible unit of value. We are building the infrastructure to make every relationship count.
The physician sees the whole patient. The patient owns their own health. All from one operating system.
None of this can be achieved without the five platforms working in concert. It is the full AI stack operating as one Constitutional AI Operating System — built for a single purpose: assuring human health at civilizational scale.
A distributed team across Houston and Bangalore — united by one mission: to solve the most consequential problem of our time.
"You're not working for us. You're working for yourself. 10% of what you build belongs to you."— The Independence OS Promise to Every Engineer
"In the limited-resource world which we're in, things ultimately become zero-sum. What I'm thinking about is a world where it's not a zero-sum game anymore."— Demis Hassabis, TIME, 2025
The deepest promise is this: that a patient can finally own their own health. Independence OS gives patients a 360° view of themselves — their conditions, their trajectories, their possibilities.
Liberating both physician and patient from the administrative machinery that separates them, so that the relationship — the irreducible, un-automatable, sacred thing — can finally breathe.
You are our first customer. Every line of code, every agent, every data pipeline is a step toward assuring human health at civilizational scale.
From the IITs to frontier AI labs. The problems here are as hard as protein folding and as consequential as any work on Earth. Join the mission.
The Constitutional AI Operating System for the most consequential problem of our time. A $4.5 trillion industry. Returns proportional to ambition.
Independence OS ensures outcomes live with the product, not the operator. The playbook for assuring human health works at any scale.
"I do think we will have AGI in the next 10 years, and I think that will usher in a new golden era of science, a kind of new renaissance."— Demis Hassabis, All-In Summit, September 2025
"We exist to solve the most consequential problem of our time: assuring human health at civilizational scale."
From one physician's independence to a billion patients owning their health. From a practice on Plainview Drive to the AI infrastructure that makes every life count.
